Guide through the entire Mulde Valley, through the area of both Muldes from Freiberg and Schneeberg to Wurzen. The Zwickauer Mulde is a river in the southwest of Saxony, generally flowing in a northeast direction. It originates near Schöneck/Vogtland from two source rivers and forms the united Mulde at Colditz together with the Freiberger Mulde, which flows in from the southeast. The Zwickauer Mulde, at 167 kilometers, is the longer of the two source rivers, but with a discharge of 26.4 m³/s, it is smaller than the Freiberger Mulde. At Aue, the Zwickauer Mulde takes in the Schwarzwasser and turns northwest. The Mulde then passes through Hartenstein, Fährbrücke, and Wiesenburg, which includes the former waterworks of the city of Zwickau.
