Product details

The author and agricultural teacher Otto Böhme describes in this volume the self-management and leasing of Saxon arable land, crop farming, livestock breeding, agricultural sideline businesses, the raw and net yields of the time, the operating resources, and much more. The Kingdom of Saxony was one of the main industrial countries in the world, had significant mining, and at the same time a highly developed agriculture. A contemporary saying goes: "What is produced in Chemnitz is traded in Leipzig and squandered in Dresden." The most fertile area is the rectangle formed by Dresden-Meissen-Leipzig-Altenburg. Northwest of Meissen lies the famous Lommatzscher Pflege, which covers 550 km², and wine was cultivated in the Dresden basin. This is a reprint of the original edition from 1890.
