Co-author Christian Leopold (1846-1911) was a German gynecologist; the Leopold maneuvers, which are used to determine the position of the unborn child in the womb before birth, are named after him. Ottomar Reichelt (1853-1911) was an architect and a senior building official in Saxony, primarily active in Dresden. Between 1900 and 1903, a new building for the women's clinic of the Dresden-Johannstadt municipal hospital was constructed in Johannstadt under Reichelt's supervision, based on his design. Leopold and Reichelt jointly authored a description of the construction and operation of the women's clinic in 1906 in the present book "The New Royal Women's Clinic in Dresden."
