The author Carl Hilty (1833 - 1909) writes in the present volume "Happiness - Part Two" about guilt and worry, about human understanding, what education is, about noble souls, and the stages of life. His discussions on the question "What is education?" are based on the realization that true education and happiness can only be achieved through overcoming human conflict. With his three volumes "Happiness" - published in 1890, 1895, and 1899 - Hilty achieved great success in publishing. The happiness volumes reached extremely high print runs, totaling tens of thousands even during his lifetime. They were translated and published in Russian, Scandinavian languages, and even a collection of essays appeared in America. These books were also part of the reading material for Konrad Adenauer, providing him with spiritual guidance especially during the dark Nazi era. Reprint.
