Friedrich Albert von Langenn describes in this volume from 1841 the life story of Moritz, Duke and Elector of Saxony, in the context of the Reformation era. Moritz of Saxony (1521-1553) was a prince from the Albertine branch of the Wettin dynasty. He was Duke of Albertine Saxony from 1541, Duke of Sagan from 1541 to 1549, and from 1547 also Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. He was one of the key opponents of Emperor Charles V in the reform of the Empire. This is a reprint of the original edition, first part from 1841, with a portrait.
