However, his enthusiasm for photography is hardly known. His estate contains an archive that has barely been explored, offering unexpected insights into the sensual aspects of his art. "SchauLust" is dedicated to a selection of around 130 images from the 1920s to the 1940s—supplemented by drawings and paintings—showcasing Alfons Walde's photographic work for the first time. The focus is on his perspective of the female nude, which he varied repeatedly in his studies—classical poses alternate with playful and exuberant scenes. Here, Walde reveals himself as a passionate voyeur, where photographing is always about the exchange of glances and the interplay of gaze and pose.
