The Zürcher Bildhauer Association (AZB) has been working since 1982 in the Gaswerk area in Schlieren on the further development of a sculptural and social culture; currently, 31 sculptors are part of the collective. As a free space that opens up life opportunities, the area is also a place for intergenerational discussions between artists and their audience. AZB forever provides photographic insights into the artistic everyday life, the workplaces, and studios. Sculptor and AZB co-founder Jürg Altherr describes the artist community as an organism. Art historian Kathrin Frauenfelder traces the history of the association. Helmhaus director Simon Maurer acknowledges the model character of the AZB.
