Friedrich Kuhn (1926-1972) is considered the most distinctive Swiss representative of the art scene that emerged in the 1960s as a counterforce to the then-dominant abstract and concrete art. Kuhn created a sensitive and anarchic painting that lies between figuration and abstraction, incorporating personally charged references to modern mass culture and pop. Revered and shrouded in legend, his artistic work has so far been presented in relation to the literary embellishment of his persona.
