Product details

Beat Stutzer, born in 1950 in Altdorf, studied art history, history, and ethnology at the University of Basel. In 1980, he earned his doctorate with a dissertation on "Albert Müller (1897 - 1926) and the artist group Rot-Blau." He served as a research assistant at the Cabinet of Prints and Drawings of the Public Art Collection in Basel and as an assistant at the Chair of Modern Art in Basel. Since 1982, he has been the director of the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur and has also been the curator of the Segantini Museum in St. Moritz since 1998. He has organized numerous exhibitions on 19th and 20th-century art and is the author of many catalog contributions, essays, and books, including works on Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Giovanni Segantini, Alberto and Augusto Giacometti, Albert Müller, Heinrich Danioth, Hannes Vogel, Kurt Sigrist, and Pierre Haubensak.
