Twelve years later, a student in Burg is reported missing, and shortly thereafter, the body of a woman is found in the woods near Detershagen. The deceased is not the missing person. The forensic pathologist concludes: the victim was killed by the same man who murdered the high school student back then. The convicted man has since been released and lives nearby.
