Product details

The Roman architect Maurizio Sacripanti (1916-1996) developed a cross-border, visionary architecture since the 1950s. His influence is evident in his designs, realized buildings, and his sustainably impactful work as a professor and author. The book published by the Kiesler Foundation in Vienna documents a series of his major designs and competition projects, including the Peugeot skyscraper for Buenos Aires, the new Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, the Italian Pavilion for Expo '70 in Osaka, and the completed Museo Civico in Maccagno. Excerpts from his manifesto "Città di frontiera/Frontier City," as well as project descriptions and written contributions from Boris Podrecca and Sacripanti's former collaborator Alfonso Giancotti, illuminate Sacripanti's dynamic spatial concepts and interdisciplinary design practice, as well as his invention of the "changeable musculature of architecture.".
