Understanding global phenomena such as political violence or terrorism is a significant challenge. This book contributes to this discussion by focusing on the issues of legitimacy and the justification of violence. It poses the question of under what conditions violence is considered legitimate from the perspective of the actors involved in the violence. Legitimacy is not a permanently guaranteed attribute; it must be continually re-established. Therefore, terrorists must constantly confront the need for legitimacy: the justification of their violent actions in the eyes of the community. The analysis aims to help readers learn to view political violence differently. It is interdisciplinary in nature, integrating political philosophy, interpretive sociology, and moral philosophy.
