The German zoologist and ornithologist Constantin Wilhelm Lambert Gloger (1803 to 1863) authored this extensive and impressive work on the mammals, birds, amphibians, and fish found in Silesia around the beginning of the 19th century. In his book, he took into account the general character of the region as well as the local and quantitative presence of the animals. The Verlag der Wissenschaften publishes historical literature by both well-known and lesser-known scientific authors, making works that have long been out of print accessible to interested readers. This book is a reprint of the original edition from 1833.
