Louise Fritz, a mother of twins and chronically overwhelmed, regularly finds herself in conflict with her own mother and grandmother Rosie, who always has a wise saying for every situation. As a history teacher with a sharp sense of sarcasm, Louise is unexpectedly catapulted back to the 16th century during a short trip to London - right in the midst of the time of Henry VIII and his penchant for headless women. Instead of heroically changing the course of history, she stumbles through the medieval world with a mix of charm, wit, and awkward courage. Along with a motley group of fellow travelers, Louise experiences numerous absurd situations and desperately searches for a way back to the present.
