Not only does the former head of the elite boarding school Salem advocate for authoritarian education, where discipline, obedience, willingness to perform, subordination, and a bit of love form the foundation of all interactions with children, but this is also the mainstream in everyday life in Germany. This call for discipline is accompanied by a poorly informed demonization of anti-authoritarian education.
