Psychological stress plays a significant role in today's work life. Rapid changes in companies, time pressure, and a variety of tasks, as well as inadequate leadership concepts, shape everyday work in many areas more than purely physical stress and accident risks. Consequently, an increasing share of absenteeism due to psychological reasons is being recorded. In addition to professional factors, personal stressors are also responsible; a simple attribution solely to work activities falls short in the complex life worlds of a postmodern society. However, professional overloads in many occupations can be effectively managed, enabling psychologically healthy work that addresses both the legitimate health interests of employees and the equally valid economic interests.
