Language games, children's rhymes, and poems exist in all children's cultures. Sound, rhythm, and rhyme captivate across language boundaries. The texts offered here are intended for all children in our multilingual and multicultural kindergartens and schools. The focus is on collecting text types that can be found in many children's cultures: accompanying texts for playground games, counting rhymes, sequential texts, upside-down stories, magic spells, riddles, and tongue twisters. The texts encourage children to engage with them intensively: to speak them, to play with them - even outside of school - to modify them, and thereby learn them by heart in the process. The pleasant sound makes it easier to remember, even if not every word is understood right away. All texts promote implicit language and literacy acquisition, especially for intercultural children who grow up with two languages.
