Text Types Didactically has been on the market for almost twenty years and has become an important manual for study and literature teaching during this time. The consistent structure of the articles has proven effective: they begin with a literary scientific presentation of the respective text type, based on previous research but approached from a didactic perspective, followed by didactic considerations on the use of this text type in teaching. The 44 text types discussed here are among the most important in study and literature education. After nearly twenty years, Text Types Didactically has now been thoroughly revised. Unfortunately, it was no longer possible to carry out this task collaboratively, as Doris Marquardt and Werner Ziesenis have since passed away. Thus, the revision of Text Types Didactically was entrusted to Leander Petz.
