The two anniversary years of 2014 and 2015 have reminded us: 200 years ago, the then already famous German poet and intellectual Johann Wolfgang von Goethe spent several weeks as a spa guest in Wiesbaden. In 1814 as well as in 1815, he wrote significant poetry here, which he later published in the "West-Eastern Divan." In the Wiesbaden Kurhaus, he met his late love Marianne von Willemer in 1814, who is the "Suleika" of this collection of poems, and celebrated his 65th birthday there.
