The holiday region on the Baltic Sea, northeast of Kiel, is the destination of this journey of discovery in text and image. The inland area is characterized by romantic villages nestled between fertile fields and meadows, small forests, and lakes. The coast, on the other hand, captivates with seemingly endless sandy beaches. At the heart of the Probstei lies the main town of Schönberg, featuring its museum railways, the Probstei Museum, and the Childhood Museum. This includes the district of Schönberger Strand with its 260-meter-long pier, as well as the exotically named beaches of Brazil and California. Other destinations include Laboe with its harbor on the Kiel Fjord and the naval memorial, Probsteierhagen and Hagen Castle, Wendtorf and Stein, as well as many other noteworthy places - all masterfully captured in images by Günter Pump.
