The postulate of education for all must be linked to the discourse of intercultural education and that of diversity if we are to concretely address the challenge of achieving a more equitable distribution of education and overcoming social inequality. Unlike many texts on intercultural pedagogy that focus on migration and thus - even if unintentionally - create the impression of a special pedagogy, a broader perspective is taken here. The promise of "education for all" has not yet been fulfilled. Social inequality exists in every society. Interculturality and diversity are part of the experience of most people. From an internationally comparative perspective, educational policy trends are examined, and pathways to an inclusive pedagogy are highlighted, where interculturality and diversity are taken for granted.
