Human rights - this term is encountered everywhere, in the speeches of politicians as well as in the comments of journalists and in the demands of prominent church representatives. It is invoked when criticizing conditions and events in other countries, but also to emphasize proposals for legislation in one's own country. The political discussions about recent wars show that the reference to human rights also comes into play when debating the justification for intervention in another state. The frequent reference in political rhetoric has unmistakable advantages. One of them is that "human rights" are understood almost worldwide. They seem to belong to what constitutes a certain commonality globally, even if it often remains unclear what kind it is.
