Friedrich Fröbel is known as the discoverer of the first kindergarten and the developer of educational toys. However, how his play pedagogy is structured as a system, what it means for the nurturing of children's play and engagement drives, and how Fröbel's elementary didactic ideas evolved throughout his life is largely unknown outside of Fröbel research. This volume is aimed at those interested in both science and practice, particularly students of educational subjects and disciplines.
