Product details

Charles Dancla (1817-1907) is regarded as the last great representative of the French violin school. He was a composer, solo violinist at the Paris Opera, and a professor at the Paris Conservatory, writing numerous instructional works for violin, including his well-known three-volume "Little Melodic School." He uniquely embodied the principle "no music without technique, no technique without music" in his teaching materials. This is also evident in his light, melodic etudes op. 84, presented here for the first time in an arrangement for viola. These etudes are excellently suited for young beginners after their second year, as well as for adult players, returnees, or those switching instruments. They are mostly appropriate as small performance pieces and provide an excellent foundation for any further etude work or concert piece. Each etude includes new or adapted exercises.
