Johann Sebastian Bach was an organist in Arnstadt, Mühlhausen, and Weimar, as well as the music director at the court in Köthen and, from 1723, the Thomaskantor in Leipzig. His extensive body of work includes church music, concert orchestral music, chamber music, organ and piano music, as well as secular cantatas. Johann Sebastian Bach came from a large family of musicians and was the most significant composer of the Baroque period.
