This workbook introduces systematic spelling learning based on the alphabetical strategy. Learners engage with simple texts, where the words can be easily transcribed through accurate pronunciation. This spelling instruction using phonetically accurate word material is particularly recommended for students with a migration background and children from educationally disadvantaged households. The workbook can be used in grade 4 or at the beginning of grade 5 to prepare for working with "Stark in Deutsch 1." Structure: vowels and consonants; syllables; pilot language, words to repeat, endings -en, -er, -el, capitalization of nouns. The workbook is complemented by a test and a portfolio for self-assessment and documentation of personal learning development.
