School networks contribute in various ways to initiating school development processes at the level of individual schools, which lead to improvements in quality in terms of content, methodology, and organization. They serve as a source of inspiration and a tool for reflection. They benefit the schools and create added value. Kathrin Dedering demonstrates that the participation of individual schools in school networks does not inherently exert a far-reaching or comprehensive influence on their development work. The success of participation in the school network is primarily determined by the existing characteristics of the organizational culture at the schools.
