Quality, quality assurance, quality management, or quality development are buzzwords that have frequently been heard in recent years in connection with healthcare and, consequently, with occupational therapy. Quality is being demanded and questioned. Quality is being raised as a standard and evaluation criterion. But what is quality, actually? And what does quality mean in occupational therapy? How is quality management structured in occupational therapy? With a focus on occupational therapy, the theoretical background is explained, and a current overview of the topic of quality is provided. In addition, practical and concrete suggestions for implementing quality development measures in the respective occupational therapy work area are also conveyed.
