Product details

Startled by the large, heavily armored KW-I and KW-II tanks of the Soviets during World War II, to which the Wehrmacht had no equivalent to counter, the Germans also began a race to develop heavy and super-heavy tanks. While some of these vehicles never made it past the drawing board and others were built only as prototypes, a third group reached series production. Among the prototypes were the two tank destroyers "Sturer Emil" and "Jagdtiger," but ultimately only the latter made it into series production. Following his successful book on the super-heavy tank "Maus," Michael Fröhlich now meticulously examines these two heavyweights in this new volume, which share the 12.8 cm gun with the "Maus." Illustrated with over 220 images.
