Is a sister more than a friend? Can the younger sister ever emancipate herself from the older one? Do twin sisters live in a symbiosis, navigating the world as "we"? Does a large sisterhood provide security, or is it rather suffocating? Sisters compare themselves to each other much more than friends do: Who did the parents love more, who developed breasts first, who looks better, who is more confident? Does all this automatically lead to competition among sisters? Women with one, two, or more sisters, aged between 18 and 70 - both well-known and unknown - provide very personal answers to these questions. Ute Karen Seggelke portrays eleven sisterhoods in 30 interviews and numerous photos. Each sister shares her perspective. The conclusion is: Sisters are incredibly intertwined in every respect.
