We are fascinated to observe the seals in the Wadden Sea, where they frolic on the sandbanks during the summer and give birth to their young. They swim through the water at lightning speed and look at us with their large, round eyes as we pass by in boats. The fact that this is possible today is thanks to extensive conservation measures in the Wadden Sea National Park and the tireless work of the seal stations. In the mudflats, one can observe many animals and quickly learn to distinguish seals from gray seals. In our book, we tell how these marine mammals live, take a peek behind the scenes at the seal stations, and make a detour to explore some other seal species.
