The phenomenon of "intellectual disability" represents a social problem. In particular, the discourse surrounding the identity and self-concept of the reference group is marked by deficits. People who are considered intellectually disabled are accompanied throughout their lives by external perspectives that lead to limitations in their activities and complicate the process of self-discovery and identity formation.
