When the now world-renowned photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn (born 1955) was a teenager contemplating how to escape the provincial confines of his hometown in the south of Rotterdam, he borrowed his father's camera to secure a spot near the stage at a rock concert - seemingly unexpectedly, a global career began. In this account, Corbijn humbly describes this incident and his journey to becoming a photographer in the rock and punk music scene, a sought-after creator of music videos and book projects, as well as a feature film director, still appearing amazed by the twists and turns his life has taken.
