The studies presented in this book deal with human crises of meaning and the attempts to repair the associated rifts and breaks—whether in the delusions of a psychosis, in the resort to (civil) religious forms, or in the search for redemption through acts of terrorist violence. To understand the problems typical of humanity on a deep level, it is necessary to engage with ontological and epistemological questions—essentially, with metaphysics.
