Product details
Angela Franke (November 18, 1957 in Magdeburg) is a former German swimmer who competed for East Germany. She achieved her first successes in the individual medley events. In this discipline, she also participated in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich but did not reach the final. As the world record holder in the 400-meter individual medley, she competed at the first World Swimming Championships in 1973 in Belgrade, where she was defeated by her compatriot Gudrun Wegner and thus became the vice world champion. A year later, she won gold in the 400-meter freestyle and with the 4×100 meter freestyle relay at the European Championships in Vienna.
