Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas Boas, commonly known as André Villas-Boas, was born on October 17, 1977, in Porto, Portugal. He is a Portuguese football manager and has been the head coach of Chelsea FC since June 22, 2011. André Villas-Boas began his career as a professional football manager at the age of 21 with the national team of the British Virgin Islands. However, after two losses to the Bermuda national football team, his adventure was short-lived. He was dismissed shortly thereafter and returned to Porto. Following that, he was a key member of José Mourinho's coaching staff for five seasons from 2003 to 2008. He accompanied Mourinho during his highly successful tenure at FC Porto to the English club Chelsea and three years later to the Italian club Inter Milan. His responsibilities in the coaching staff included analyzing opposing players and developing tactics.
