Anne Peters, born on November 15, 1964, in Berlin, is a German professor of international and constitutional law at the University of Basel. She began her studies in law as well as Greek language and literature at Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg in 1984. She then studied international law at the University of Lausanne from 1985 to 1986 and from 1986 to 1990, she studied law, Spanish, and Modern Greek at Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, where she passed her first state examination in law in 1990. From 1990 to 1993, she worked as a legal trainee at the Regional Court of Freiburg, with elective placements focusing on international law at the German Embassy in Quito and at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law. Additionally, she worked as a research assistant at the Chair of European and International Law from 1990 to 1994.
