Anthony Michell Howard CBE (February 12, 1934; December 19, 2010, in London, England) was a British journalist, radio presenter, and author. He was also the editor of various British magazines. Howard was born the son of an Anglican clergyman, Canon Guy Howard. He attended Purton Stoke School in Kintbury, West Berkshire, England, and in London, he went to Highgate School in Highgate and Westminster School in Westminster, before going to Christ Church College in Oxford. There, he was the chairman of the Oxford University Labour Club in 1954 and the president of the Oxford Union in 1955. After graduating from Oxford, Howard planned a career as a lawyer. In 1956, he was called to the Bar at the Inner Temple in London.
