With the rise of Jörg Haider and the strengthening of the environmental and peace movements, young people received increasing attention, as this demographic group became a lucrative consumer factor increasingly targeted by the leisure market and entertainment industry, while remaining excluded from political and public affairs. Twenty years later, Generation Sexkoffer aims to provide insights into how the youth of that time experienced the end of the Kreisky era, what observations they made regarding Austria's handling of its Nazi past, and how they sought answers to questions of sexuality, particularly in the context of the rise of MTV and a newly globalized music scene.
