Sexuality and partnerships among people with intellectual disabilities have long transitioned from a taboo subject to a topic of discussion. However, uncertainties and reservations still shape public opinion. The author approaches the topic from the perspective of those directly affected, venturing into new territory. While previous publications on "sexuality and disability" mostly articulate an external viewpoint or primarily involve disabled individuals with developed communication skills in their studies, she interviewed adolescents with severe cognitive and communicative impairments, thereby filling a gap in research. The author sought initial insights into the realities of those affected through an individual-biographical approach. Due to the limited verbal communication abilities, interviews were not feasible.
