Felix Huby, the creator of Bienzle and Schimanski as well as the author of at least 700 screenplays for film and television, has written his most personal book. This is the story of young Christian Ebinger, his family, and a small village near Tübingen. The author reflects on three decades of German history, from the difficult times right after the war to the 1960s. The book deals with war returnees, followers, and converts, but also with a time that was incredibly exciting and vibrant, feeling like one big adventure for Christian, the author's alter ego. It is a grand social panorama of this young Federal Republic and a great storyteller whose novel practically cries out for adaptation into film.
