The 'Study Edition' (10 volumes plus supplementary volume) includes about two-thirds of the Freud texts found in the 'Standard Edition'. The editor of the famous English Freud edition, James Strachey, contributed to the conception of the 'Study Edition'. To this day, the 'Study Edition' is the only critical German-language edition of the main part of Freud's work. The volumes are organized by themes, allowing the reader to quickly navigate the diverse works of Freud. Within the volumes, which are equipped with a comprehensive editorial apparatus, the chronological structuring principle is applied.
