Product details

The theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945) was murdered by the Nazis as a resistance fighter. He opposed the "law of the stronger" with spoken and written words in public sermons, written submissions, and texts in his "Ethics." He also stood by those discriminated against and persecuted by the Nazi regime. In her book, Beate M. Schutte illustrates how Bonhoeffer helped the weak, the poor, the disenfranchised, Jews, and the sick. She also explores what gave Bonhoeffer the inner strength necessary for his resistance.

Beate M. Schutte was born in 1956 in Brühl. She studied theology in Bonn and Wuppertal. In Monheim am Rhein, she worked for 15 years as a parish pastor. Afterwards, she served as a school chaplain at a vocational college in Cologne. In 2019, she earned her doctorate at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn with a thesis on Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Beate M. Schutte lives near Bonn and writes books about Christian personalities.
