Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present the different approaches of Maria Montessori to the differentiation of perception in children and toddlers. It is assumed that training of perception can only occur through targeted sensory education. The following questions will be addressed: 1) How can a more differentiated perception in children be achieved according to Montessori? 2) What methods, exercises, and materials are used for the systematic training of the senses? 3) What criteria were used in the development of Montessori materials? 4) What factors play a role in the education of perception and the senses?.
