With Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle created the most famous detective figure of all time. In four novels and 56 short stories, he described the adventures of the master detective and his assistant Dr. Watson. Some cases, however, are only mentioned here in passing. Doyle never got around to writing them down, much to his regret.
