Siebeneinhalb Leben
German, Peter Henisch, 2018Product details
The author Paul Spielmann, who sits on a bench in the park writing, is irritated. Who is the person who suddenly appears and invades his space? Does he really think that Spielmann's novel "Stein's Paranoia" is about him? His name is Max Stein, just like the protagonist, and apparently there are also parallels between his story and that in the novel. The next day, Spielmann sits on a different bench, but he cannot shake off the tormentor. When he decides to work from home from now on, Stein begins to prepare for Spielmann's abduction. Peter Henisch playfully shifts between the realms of fact and fiction, between life and literature, in a way that only a truly great storyteller can.
