Product details

A Prussian island in the flow of time. Much has been written about Prussia and its history in recent years. However, never before, as far as can be seen, has there been an attempt to present Prussian history, its highs and lows, from the perspective of a single location, a tiny place that entered history with the Great Elector and disappeared from it with Hitler's downfall. The Peacock Island, which for a long time was just one of many islands in the Havel River, is brought into history first through the whimsical affection of an Elector and then through the forbidden love of a prince. Since the end of the 18th century, Peacock Island has been owned by the House of Hohenzollern and is associated with the names of Prussian kings and artists. It proves to be a site of Prussian history.
