The study deals with the development of storytelling in the wake of the Nouveau Roman. Following the destruction of the traditional novel structure, there is often a superficial return to storytelling. Through the analysis of individual novels, it is demonstrated that the Nouveau Roman and new realism provide different literary responses to a changing reality of life. The work also incorporates the extraliterary reality, which is characterized by increasing virtualization. The secondary experience as a fundamental experience of modernity is articulated in a storytelling that incorporates the disembodiment into its form.
