The states of consciousness of the drinkers were already postmodern when the term "postmodern" didn't even exist. Their experiences and stories turn out to be repetitions of something that has never been before, colors without preceding tragedies, equally original copies. But can what someone has truly experienced be a forgery? Or are it the contexts that are forged? Roman, the first-person narrator, desperately seeks the authentic: in adventures with women, in alcohol excesses, in the lectures of the "Bar Professor" Singer.
