Product details

In the great workshop of nature. For Hans Arp, nature was the measure of all things, the constant change of natural forms and their metamorphoses, or in Arp's words: "We sought an elemental art that should heal humanity from the madness of time." Hans Arp has become a pioneer of organic abstraction and has particularly fostered a discourse with his biomorphic sculptures since the 1930s, which continues to this day. The works in this exhibition, all depicted in the accompanying book, not only showcase the rich collection of Arp's works at the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck but also connect them with an overview of important contemporary positions collected at the Arp Museum, such as those by Angelika Arendt, Bonnie Collura, Tony Cragg, Louise Bourgeois, Jackie Brookner, Jáchym Fleig, Julie Hayward, Bodo Korsig, Gerhard Mantz, and Maix M.
